Biting your nails? A SURVIVAL GUIDE to make it through these final days of this election to help ensure a 2020 Blue Wave!

Sitting on Pins and Needles

I get it, believe me I do.

If you are like many of us today, unless you happen to be busy working on a local/national campaign right now, you are quietly going bonkers, biting your nails just considering the possibility of another four more years of Donald Trump.

It’s easy to do, with just 7 days left, fretting over any news of voter suppression or other possible Trump/GOP tricks and maneuvers that could somehow keep this orange menace in office. It’s keeping some of us awake at night and pharmacies are reporting an uptick in sales of Pepto-Bismol.

But rather than develop an ulcer in these painful, final days of the 2020 campaign, I have a much better suggestion:

Spend your time proactively as we approach this November third cutoff that will not only keep your mind occupied, but you can also help ensure that a Big Blue Wave will overtake the entire country, removing Donald Trump along with many of his orange enablers and take full control of the House and the Senate!

So roll up your sleeves and let’s get started…

Survival Guide for the Final Week

Make Sure Your Vote is Counted

This is the MOST important step, before you do anything else. If you haven’t voted yet and were thinking about just mailing it in, STOP!

With all of the hi-jinks by Trump and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy over the past several months to mess with the U.S. mail service in a cowardly attempt to delay the delivery of absentee / mail-in ballots along with lawsuits to disallow the counting of ballots that arrive late, we must assume that if you have not already mailed your ballot in before today, that it will arrive late and not be considered valid!

Right now, it would be best to go and drop off your completed and properly processed ballot at your local, certified Ballot Drop Box or, just go out and vote early in person for Joe Biden and every Blue candidate on the ballot in your local area.

That is the ONLY way to ensure your vote will be counted and not leave it up to the mail service. This election is much too critical to leave anything to chance.

Understand Why Every Vote is Critical!

In 2016, Donald Trump won the Electoral College by managing to win 18 states with winning margins of less than 250,000 votes out of millions cast and if we just look at Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, Trump won those states by 0.2, 0.7 and 0.8 percentage points, respectively.

Those three wins gave him 46 electoral votes and were decisive in the final tally.

By a difference of just 79,646 total votes cast in those three states, Donald Trump became president of the United States. 79,646 votes out of nearly 136 million total votes cast in the entire country.

79,846 voters ended up deciding the entire election for the rest of us. 80,000 Blue voters who voted for Trump, a third party candidate or simply didn’t even show up to vote.

Any additional Blue voters you could inspire and/or help to get to the polls in the coming days could be crucial!

Especially in the swing states of Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Georgia, Texas, and Florida.

Even in Deep Blue state California where the GOP still maintains strongholds in areas like Fresno and Bakersfield where GOP House members and Trump sycophants Devin Nunes and Kevin McCarthy are both up for reelection.

Every Single Vote Counts!

Volunteer to Help Get Out the Vote

If you have the free time, consider contacting your local Democratic Party headquarters to see all the ways that you can help to get out the vote in your local area. They can offer you LOTS of different ways you can get involved and take action!

Call, Email, Text and Visit in Person

This is an excellent opportunity to reach out to ALL of your like minded extended family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers, asking them if they have already voted and to emphasize the importance of doing so this year. You can do so by phone, email, text message and even by personal visit (wearing a face mask and socially distancing).

Make sure to ask about their voting age children as well – the youth vote is turning out BIG this year and could really be the tipping point for a 2020 Blue Wave! Ask them if they have already voted and if not, go over their plan to vote with them and even share this Survivor’s Guide for the Final Week with them.

Once you get them in motion to vote, ask them to contact all of their like minded extended family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers with this same message and share this guide with them as well. Suggest they could even go out and vote together with other like-minded, Blue voting friends they could reach out and contact.

This is exactly how a Blue Vote in these final days goes viral.

Plan Voter Caravans, Car Pools and Election Night Watch Parties

This pandemic has hit some much harder than others and take into consideration that by offering to give someone a ride to go and vote may be a welcome aid, just to save a few dollars in gas. Offer to organize carpools to help those who could use the help find transportation to and from the polls.

Some people just don’t like the thought of standing alone in line to vote so offer to go in groups, take a folding chair if needed and enjoy some company with friends you may not have seen in awhile; again, socially distancing and wearing a face mask.

If you round up enough of you, consider caravanning all together to the polls and make a real statement!

Once you have all voted, stay in touch with each other, encouraging one another while reminding them to also reach out to other like minded potential voters. While you converse, you can plan together a Zoom video call to watch the election night coverage together. This is a great way to help reach out to so many friends and family you have been separated from this year due to COVID19.

Share this Survivor’s Guide for the Final Week on Social Media

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are probably the best ways to quickly reach a large potential audience with this message in the final week of the campaign.

If you are really creative, you could come up with a video to get this message out over Tik-Toc and reach a larger audience of younger voters.

Feel free to share any of the hundreds of posts here as well.

Thanks in advance.

Final Thoughts

Future history books will talk much about this time period in American history and the decisions voters made in 2020 to either make a dramatic course correction or fall even deeper into chaos, constitutional crisis and national decline; whether we chose to control this pandemic or give up, condemning hundreds of thousands more to die needlessly.

The decision is in our hands and the key is to vote.

Do everything you can in these final days and make sure other Blue voters you know do so as well. This is how we survive these final days and take America back…
